Charging & Range

All about charging

Whether you’re charging at home or on the go, we’ve got you covered. 95% of car journeys in the NZ are less than 30 km so most of your journeys could be covered by charging at home with a home wall box. And with a continuously growing network of charging stations across the country, charging a fully electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle has never been easier or faster.

Charging at home

Over 90 percent of electric and plug-in hybrid charging takes place at home. With safe parking and overnight off-peak electricity rates available, it's no wonder. Depending on individual house infrastructure and connection capacity, one could expect up to 240km more range following an 8 hour charge.

Charging on the road

Public charging infrastructure is crucial to delivering the freedom and flexibility of an electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle. Audi offers e-tron customers special access to a rapidly growing network of over 280 fast charging stations, thanks to a partnership with ChargeNet. Furthermore, e-tron MMI navigation systems are linked to the comprehensive live EVRoam database; a world-first collaboration by the NZ Transport Agency and energy industry. Audi have also partnered with global leader in electrification, ABB, to offer fast charging points at authorised Audi dealerships nationwide. And with Audi connect, you can check the charge level of your e-tron in the myAudi app anytime, anywhere.

Charging your Audi at home

When purchasing an Audi e-tron or plug-in hybrid, it is essential to ensure you can maximise your at-home charging capabilities.

To assist with this, Audi New Zealand has partnered with JET Charge to offer our customers complimentary home charging assessments.

JET Charge home assessment

Your Audi vehicle will come with an Audi mobile charger, cables, and a wall-mounted bracket that can be installed and connected to either a regular 10amp power socket, 32amp single phase industrial socket (recommended) or 32amp three-phase power socket. As part of the assessment, JET Charge will determine the level of charging possible in your home, provide a quote and then arrange to install the wall-mounted portable charger. The charging capability is likely to range from 2.3 kW to 7.4 kW with single-phase power options, and up to 11 kW with three-phase power.

Ahead of your vehicle’s delivery it is recommended that JET Charge is contacted for the necessary wiring and electrical socket quote & installation.
