Audi has racing in its genes – and the Audi R8 Coupé V10 performance quattro* has plenty of this genetic material. You can see this from every angle: from the powerful air intakes next to the wide single-frame grille at the front, through the sharp-edged side lines, which gives a sense of the mid-mounted engine, through to the raised diffuser at the rear. This 449 kW Coupé marks the exact transition between the road and the race track.

The chassis: precision from every perspective
In addition to performance, racing is always about how precisely and how directly you can replicate it on the road. The chassis delivers a key part of the answer: dual aluminium wishbone axles guide all four wheels, while the Audi R8 Coupé V10 performance quattro features springs and dampers that are set up to be even tighter. Audi magnetic ride, which comes standard, uses a synthetic blend of oils that contain tiny magnetic particles to create a magnetic field within the shock absorber. This adapts the way the shock absorbers work to suit your driving style and the profile of the road – making changes every millisecond for each individual wheel.
The re-tuned steering assistance passes on your steering even more directly and ensures exceptionally accurate feedback from the road. The optional dynamic steering adjusts the steering angle depending on your speed, thereby ensuring extremely agile handling. The standard carbon-fibre-reinforced ceramic brakes with red brake calipers on the Audi R8 Coupé V10 performance quattro serve to reduce momentum.
Role model racing
The brother of the Audi R8, the Audi R8 LMS, has enjoyed success on prestigious circuits all over the world. So far, it has clinched four overall victories at the 24 Hours Nürburgring and the Total 24 Hours of Spa, and one in Dubai. Among other sprint and championship titles, it has already topped the leaderboard three times at the Bathurst 12 Hour.
The closeness of the relationship between these high-performance sports vehicles can be seen in the number of identical parts: 50 percent compared to the GT3 version. For example, the V10 engine is almost identical in both vehicles. The series model even shares 60 percent of its parts with the sports car Audi R8 LMS GT4.
Interior: focus and elegance
Its proximity to racing is also noticeable in the interior of the Audi R8: directly in front of you, a large, contoured arc visually encompasses all the controls, imitating the driver-focused design of a monoposto car. The Audi R8 Coupé V10 performance quattro has bucket seats as optional. The interior comes with fine nappa leather seat trim covers with diamond stitching, and decorative inlays in matt carbon twill. Stainless steel pedals and footrest, as well as carbon inlays, are also standard. Of course, there is no limit to your individual requests. Audi exclusive has a variety of colour and material combinations for you that you can use to ensure the interior of your super-sporty vehicle perfectly matches your style.
The Audi virtual cockpit: keep the essentials in view
The concept of using the interior to enable the driver to focus as much as possible on the track is extended to the digital world with the standard combination of MMI navigation plus and the Audi virtual cockpit. The large 12.3-inch diagonal display focuses on a tachometer. Additional values are arranged around this, such as torque, g-forces, lap times, engine and transmission oil temperatures, and tyre pressure and temperature. The MMI operating system works with intelligent speech recognition and in principle can be controlled without you needing to take your hands off the steering wheel. The Audi R8 Coupé V10 performance quattro features an additional button that allows you to directly control the specially adjusted performance programs.
